Configure the Exxas integration
Connecting your Exxas account and verifying access
Overview
This guide describes the configuration of the Exxas integration in echo. It is relevant as soon as Exxas has been selected as an integration during onboarding (step 2 of the installation guide). The settings are available at any time under Settings → Exxas.
Exxas is connected per user. Each user signs in with their own Exxas credentials, and echo automatically detects the corresponding system and portal.
Once connected, echo can search for contacts and companies in Exxas and offer direct links to the relevant Exxas records.
Connect Exxas
Open Settings → Exxas and enter the following data:
- Username
- Your Exxas username or login name.
- Password / app password
- Use your normal Exxas password if multi-factor authentication is disabled. If MFA is enabled, use an Exxas app password created in Exxas.
Then click Connect.
Password vs. app password
The Exxas login flow supports both standard login and app-password login.
- Password: use this if multi-factor authentication is turned off for the account.
- App password: use this if your Exxas account requires MFA. Create the app password in Exxas under User settings → Security → App passwords and enter it here.
If the account uses MFA and you try to connect with the standard password, the login fails with a clear error message prompting you to use an app password instead.
Checks after connection
After a successful connection, you see the Exxas connection card and can verify the detected values:
- Tenant name
- System ID
- Slug
- Portal URL
The status shows whether the connected Exxas account is valid or whether the connection has an error.
If the connection fails
If the login does not work, check the following:
- The username and password are correct.
- If MFA is enabled, the app password was created and entered correctly.
- The account still has access to the Exxas tenant.
- The Exxas tenant is accessible from the environment where echo is running.
Common causes are invalid credentials, missing app password for MFA-enabled accounts, or a temporary Exxas authentication issue.
Caller identification
For incoming calls, echo searches Exxas for the caller's phone number. This only works when the Exxas account is connected and the corresponding user data is available in the Exxas tenant.
